MARTHA JORDAN FEDASH

Member of Falls Travel Club

Martha Jordan Fedash, formerly of Niles, died Feb. 21, 2010 at Akron City Hospital.

Born Jan. 6, 1922 in Niles, Mrs. Fedash was the daughter of the late Steve and Anastasia (Mestelides) Jordan. She was raised in Boston, and later returned to Niles, graduating from Niles McKinley High School in 1939. She retired to Cuyahoga Falls to be closer to her family.

She was a former member of the Niles Presbyterian Church, a member of the Humane Society, the Cuyahoga Falls Travel Club, Strollers, and Choral Society. She was an avid gardener and traveler. Some of her fondest memories were driving through Europe and vacationing at the ocean.

She retired from General Electric, Mahoning Glass Works in the Quality Control Department after 42 years of service.

Her husband, Charles Fedash, whom she married in 1948, died in 1967.

She is survived by a daughter Charlotte (Dennis) Bogdan of Cuyahoga Falls, and two grandsons Michael Bogdan of Washington D.C. and Dennis Bogdan Jr. of Cuyahoga Falls.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters: Georgia Chapman and Mary J. Durica, and a brother-in-law Joseph Durica.

Graveside services took place at the Niles City Cemetery Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Akron Humane Society in Martha's name. Lane Funeral Home Niles Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
