The Cuyahoga Falls High School Music Department has much to be proud of these days. Recently, three bands and four choirs from the high school participated in the Ohio Music Education Association Large Group Adjudicated Event. On March 5, the band directors hosted the event at Falls High. Three of the four high school concert bands performed. For the first time, the Gold Concert Band, under the direction of Brandon DuVall and Dustin Harris earned the highest rating of superior. Additionally, the Black Concert Band, directed by DuVall and the Symphonic Band, directed by Harris, also earned superior ratings. On March 6, the choirs traveled to Copley High School to perform. Under the direction of Jesse Lange, the A Cappella Choir and Advanced Men's Chorus both earned superior ratings, with the Freshmen Treble Chorus and the Advanced Women receiving the next highest rating of excellent. All ensembles that received a superior rating are able to advance to the contest at the state level that will be conducted April 23 and 24. Comments
