by Michael Leonard Sports Editor Columbus -- It was mixed day for the Cuyahoga Falls-based contingent on day one at the state wrestling meet March 4. Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy couldn't have asked for a better start, as the Royals went 5-0 in the first round. Nate Tomasello, Zak Vargo, Brandon Sommers, Matt Meadows and Alex Utley all advanced to the quarterfinals. Meanwhile, Walsh Jesuit went 2-3 in the first round, with Johnni DiJulius and Nate Skonieczny winning. Jonn Novak and Dillon Magalski remain alive in the consolation brackets. Anthony Melchiorre was eliminated in the 189-pound class. Woodridge's 140-pounder Zach Bickel went 0-2 on the day and was eliminated.
