Each year the Cuyahoga Falls Chamber of Commerce awards scholarships to Cuyahoga Falls graduating seniors. The students can attend any of the area schools, but must reside in Cuyahoga Falls. Students who attend Cuyahoga Falls High School and live in Silver Lake are also eligible.
The official scholarship packets were sent to all the local school Guidance Counselors earlier in Feb. 8. Student scholarship applications may only be picked up directly from the area high school guidance counselors.
Applications are not available at the Chamber of Commerce. The deadline for all completed applications to be submitted is no later than 5 p.m. on March 18 at the Chamber of Commerce office.
The 2010 Scholarship Committee will interview the final candidates that are selected as they are making their final selections for the actual scholarship recipients. Students will be notified by phone if they are selected to come in for an interview.
Donations for the scholarship program are being accepted from Chamber member businesses and anyone else in the community that would like to contribute.
The Scholarship Committee also raises money for the program by volunteering at Rockin' on the River. The Chamber Scholarship Program also hosted a Night at the Races Scholarship Fundraiser for the Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Program at the Cuyahoga Falls Natatorium on Feb. 12.
The 2010 Scholarships will be awarded June 23 at Silver Lake Country Club at the Chamber's monthly lunch meeting.
