Cuyahoga Falls -- A loss prevention guard for a store in the 1100 block of Buchholzer Boulevard reported on Feb. 8 that two customers concealed $2,268 worth of electronic merchandise and walked out of the store without paying on Jan. 15 around 2:30 p.m. The guard also reported two customers left the store without paying for six home security surveillance systems worth a total of $715 around 5:15 a.m. Feb. 1. Police said it's too early in the investigation to tell if the two reports are related. Drug, weapon charges Feb. 7 -- Knife and syringe found. A 28-year-old Kent man was arrested at a gas station in the 2400 block of Oakwood Drive and charged with drug abuse, drug abuse instruments and carrying a concealed weapon. According to police, he was observed in possession of an insulin syringe in plain sight. After taking the man into custody, officers reported finding he was in possession of a white powdery substance in his wallet and a knife with a 3-inch blade in his pants pocket. The powder field-tested positive for both heroin and methamphetamine, police said. The man was booked in the City Jail. Theft Feb. 2 -- Personal data missing. A resident of Silver Lake Avenue reported she suspects a woman she knows "trashed" the inside of her house, the report said, by throwing food and garbage around the house, and took her family's medical records between 9:30 a.m. Jan. 31 Feb. 2 4 p.m. There was no evidence of forced entry, police said. Accident Feb. 5 -- Failure to control. A 36-year-old Stow woman was cited for failure to control following a crash at State and Graham roads. Driving an SUV, a 29-year-old Akron man was traveling south on State Road at 11:30 p.m. when he entered the intersection at Graham Road preparing to turn east. The Stow woman, also driving an SUV, was heading west on Graham in a northbound turn lane when her vehicle slid into the intersection and struck the Akron man's vehicle, according to the report.
