Father allegedly deserts youngsters over desserts

Cuyahoga Falls -- An arrest warrant has been issued for a Twinsburg man, 39, charging him with child endangering after he left his three children, ages 5, 10 and 11, by themselves at a restaurant in the 1000 block of Graham Road the evening of Jan. 26.

According to police, he brought the children into the restaurant at 7:30 p.m., bought them ice cream and then left. At 8:55 p.m. the manager called the police. The children's mother was contacted in Akron and she came and picked them up at the police station.

Theft

Feb. 1 -- Scrap scrounged. A co-owner of an auto parts store in the 1800 block of Front Street reported the theft of 14 used automotive battery cores worth about $140 from a locked, fenced-in area behind the store between 4:30 p.m. Jan. 31 and 8 a.m. Feb. 1.

Jan. 31 -- Bills bilked. An Akron woman reported someone stole $80 in cash out of her purse while it was on the bar in a tavern in the 1700 block of State Road around 12:20 a.m. Police are following leads.

Jan. 30 -- Purse lighter. A Stow woman reported that she accidentally left her purse at a Howe Avenue restaurant on Jan. 29 and when she retrieved it the next day, $120 in cash was missing.

Jan. 30 -- Money missing. A Falls woman reported someone took more than $10,000 in cash out of her checking account over the past 60 days. The woman named a suspect, the report said.

Jan. 28 -- Trailer cleaned out. A Twinsburg man reported someone stole two propane floor scrubbers from his trailer while it was parked in front of a store in the 1700 block of State Road between 9:40 and 11 p.m. Loss was $6,000.

Assault

Jan. 28 -- Worker struck. A North Canton woman reported being struck by a male juvenile while she was at work at a clinic in the 2200 block of Issaquah Street. The student suffers from autism, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, and oppositional defiant disorder, the report said. No arrest was made. The woman had a minor injury to her face and lower jaw, police said.

Forgery

Jan. 27 -- Cash withdrawal. A Falls woman reported her 26-year-old son repeatedly used her personal information and forged withdrawal slips to remove $3,370 from her checking account without her permission Dec. 23 to Jan. 25. The son admitted to stealing the money, the report said, and was arrested and charged with forgery.

Burglary

Jan. 27 -- Guns grabbed. A resident of the 2800 block of Hudson Drive reported someone entered his house by unknown means between 6:30 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. and took two rifles, two shotguns, a crossbow and other miscellaneous property. Estimated loss was $3,510.
