Gary Scott Schley, 66, died Jan. 12, 2010, at Akron General Medical Center.
Born in Akron on Oct. 25, 1943 to the late Ralph and Pauline Schley, Mr. Schley had been a lifetime area resident. He was a 1962 graduate of Tallmadge High School and was employed for 22 years by West Park Packaging in Strongsville, retiring in 2006.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Schley was preceded in death by his sisters Elesa Schley and Robyn Hrubik. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Barbara of Cuyahoga Falls; sons and daughters-in-law Aaron and Adrey Schley of Canal Fulton and Christopher and Laura Schley of Sterling; brothers Ralph (Carol) Schley of Doylestown and Bruce Schley of Oregon; sisters Cynthia Schley of Akron and Heidi (Frank) Fodor of Bath; grandchildren Matthew, Mackenzie, Stuart, Betsy, and Ellen Schley.
Graveside services took place at Crown Hill Cemetery in Twinsburg.
McGowan-Reid and Santos Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
