MERRIL G. LOVELACE

Korean War veteran

Merril G. Lovelace, 81, died Jan. 18, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Lovelace was born in Akron and had resided in Cuyahoga Falls his entire life. He retired as a carpenter out of Local 639, was a member of the Akron Baptist Temple and had served with the U. S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a member of Cuyahoga Falls LOOM and Cuyahoga Falls FOE.

Preceded in death by his brother, Floyd "Bud," he is survived by his wife of 60 years, Audrey; children, John (Pam) Lovelace of Green, Gale (Terry) Seikel of Michigan, Sharon Finneran and Randy Lovelace, both of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, John (Jodi) Lovelace, Kim Lovelace, Jackie, Joe and Dan Seikel, Richard (Angel) Rhinehart and Anthony (Corrie) Rhinehart; 11 great-grandchildren including Van and Rylee Lovelace and sister, Joan Weber of Kent.

A funeral service was conducted in The Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St., the Rev. Ernie Kemppel officiating. Interment was at Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of other remembrances, memorials may be made to the Akron Baptist Temple, 2324 Manchester Road, Akron 44314. Mr. Lovelace's tribute video will be available on the funeral home Web site.

Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
