Cuyahoga Falls -- An employee of the electric department Jan. 21 reported the electric meter for an apartment in the 2600 block of Third Street had been tampered with. Power that had been disconnected due to non-payment had been reconnected without the city's knowledge on April 9, 2009, the police report said. Loss was $538. No charges have been filed, police said. Theft Jan. 23 -- Arrest made. A 30-year-old Falls man was arrested and charged with theft after he was caught with a $7 bottle of Long Island iced tea that he allegedly stole from a convenience store in the 1700 block of Fourth Street at 12:55 a.m. Police also gave the man a criminal trespass warning to stay away from the store. Jan. 20 -- Vehicles entered. A resident of the 1900 block of Cook Street reported someone entered her two vehicles parked in her driveway between 2 and 6 a.m. and stole a power inverter and portable media player charger. Total loss was $75. Police said there was no damage. Telecommunication harassment Jan. 21 -- Not-so-friendly face. A Falls woman reported a woman she knows has been sending her unwanted, insulting messages through her Facebook account on the Internet. She was advised to contact Facebook. Dog bite Jan. 21 -- Don't bite the messenger. A 40-year-old Munroe Falls man reported he was bitten by a dog around 4:45 p.m. Jan. 12 while delivering mail to a house in the 2200 block of Schubert Street. The mail carrier said the dog had come from a different house in the same block. The report said he drove himself to Stow Medical Center with a minor injury. Criminal mischief Jan. 19 -- Early Easter Bunny? An employee of a specialty store in the 1200 block of Buchholzer Boulevard reported someone dressed in a green coat, blue jeans and red mask threw a raw egg into the store at 8:10 p.m. and ran away. The egg broke on the floor, but did no damage. Burglary Jan. 19 -- Daytime break-in. A resident of the 2300 block of 23rd Street reported that someone kicked in her back door between 7:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. and took a laptop computer, two flat-screen TVs, a video game system, 10 games and a portable media player docking station. Estimated loss was $4,000. Deception to obtain drugs Jan. 19 -- Attempt made. An employee of a pharmacy in the 1900 block of Bailey Road reported someone phoned in a false prescription order between 6 p.m. Jan. 16 and 1 p.m. Jan. 17. Police have leads and are investigating.
