National Church Residences (NCR) recently initiated the InCare program -- an alternative to assisted living -- for Cuyahoga Falls senior citizens. The program provides private home health services to keep seniors active and independent in their own homes. InCare helps seniors continue to live independently, or "age in place." InCare operates under the premise of providing home health to seniors where, when and how they want it. At-home and personal care services include: 24-hour response; homemaking service; personal care (bathing, grooming, dressing, and medication reminders); service coordination; physical, speech and rehabilitative therapies and adult day services. In addition, InCare expects to create 40 to 50 jobs in the Cuyahoga Falls area during the next 18 months. Positions will include RNs; LPNs; RN case managers; home health aides; sales and marketing personnel; administrative staff; and occupational, physical, and speech therapists. Eventually, the InCare program in Cuyahoga Falls will offer services that are reimbursed by Medicare, which will include skilled home care, registered nurse visits and even hospice. NCR, the nation's largest not-for-profit provider of affordable housing options for modest-income families and seniors, launched the initial InCare program last November in Franklin County, as well as in 14 other central and southern Ohio counties. NCR is now offering InCare services in Cuyahoga Falls where the organization already has a presence with senior housing communities such as Portage Trail. The program is open to all area seniors by calling 330-945-6950 or e-mailing incare@ncr.org for more information. The InCare offices are located at 2321 Second St., Suite 102, in Cuyahoga Falls. "We realized," said Terry Allton, vice president of InCare, "that NCR's extensive housing network, combined with our 47 years of expertise in the senior services arena and long history of senior advocacy on a national level, makes NCR uniquely qualified to serve not only residents of our own properties, but seniors in our local areas as well."
