Man reports he was robbed at gunpoint on Howe Avenue

On Dec. 26, a Peninsula resident reported a man robbed him of $398 at gunpoint around 11:30 p.m. in a parking lot along the Howe Avenue shopping corridor. The victim said the suspect got into a vehicle driven by another man, which drove off heading eastbound on Howe Avenue.

Gross sexual imposition

Dec. 26 -- Allegation made. A Sixth Street resident reported someone had sexual contact with her 10-year-old daughter between Nov. 26 and Dec. 26. There are leads and the case is under investigation.

Safecracking

Dec. 26 -- Unsafe keeping? A Winter Parkway resident reported someone used a key to enter a locked safe at his residence to steal a gold necklace valued at $1,000. The theft occurred between noon on Christmas Eve and 5 a.m. on Christmas Day. There are leads and the case is under investigation.

Burglary

Dec. 25 -- Vanishing act. Between Nov. 24 and Dec. 25, an Adams Run resident reported someone stole jewelry and a change box from his residence, valued at $2,650. The case is open and has been assigned to a detective.

Theft

Dec. 23 -- Concealed computer gear. A 42-year-old Solon resident in a wheelchair was arrested on a theft charge after a Howe Avenue store employee allegedly saw her conceal multiple items under a blanket. The woman reportedly checked out of the store without paying for merchandise including two GPS units, a computer program, a computer game, a purse and a bottle of fuel additive.

Dec. 25 -- Grinch sighting. A Victor Avenue resident reported someone took $100 worth of quarters as well as miscellaneous stocking stuffers from his residence between Dec. 11 and Christmas morning. The case is closed and prosecution has been declined.

Dec. 26 -- Prize pilfered? A Chestnut Boulevard resident reported someone stole a white gold cluster ring valued at $2,000 from her bedroom between Feb. 12 and Dec. 23. The case is open and has been assigned to a detective.

Robbery

Dec. 26 -- Good time gone bad. An East Sparta resident reported she was leaving a party in the vicinity of Clara Street and Orlen Avenue about 2 a.m. when she discovered two unknown men in her car. She allegedly tried to stop the pair from stealing her 2-year-old pit bull as well as a laptop computer and software and was assaulted in the process. She was treated at a hospital and released. The value of the stolen items is $1,450. The case is under investigation.

Domestic violence

Dec. 23 -- Violence asserted. A 24-year-old Fallsite was arrested on a domestic violence charge against his 54-year-old mother. The woman summoned police to a residence shortly before 8 p.m., alleging her son grabbed and twisted her right arm following an altercation over car mats. The woman declined medical treatment.

Criminal damaging

Dec. 21 -- Repairs required. A Hudson Drive resident reported someone slashed the top of her 1993 Ford Mustang, causing approximately $600 in damage, between 11 p.m. on Dec. 20 and 5 a.m. on Dec. 21.

Disorderly conduct

Dec. 26 -- Impatient patient? A 27-year-old Winter Parkway resident was arrested on a disorderly conduct charge after he allegedly made threatening comments to a doctor and staff at Summa Western Reserve Hospital. Police had transported the man there after he requested medical treatment at a Bailey Road gas station about 3:45 a.m..
