Peninsula company hosting food drive

Belfor Property Restoration is hosting a Food and Funds drive through Dec. 18 to help support the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank this holiday season.

Belfor announces it has partnered with the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank for their first annual Holiday Food and Funds drive hosted at their office in Peninsula. The company is hosting the drop off location at 79 Cuyahoga Falls Industrial Parkway off of State Road. Belfor is also offering to pick up any donations made. The company's goal is 1,000 pounds of food. A $1 donation equals three meals to help feed the hungry.

The "super six" most needed items of non-perishable food include peanut butter, canned tuna, canned vegetables, canned beef stew, canned soup, and boxed cereal.

Belfor is a national corporation that specializes in Disaster Recovery and Property Restoration.

Hair salon collects donations for Humane Society

For the month of December the Razor's Edge Hair Studio will be collecting donations for The Greater Akron Humane Society. For every item donated, the donor will receive a $10 Gift Certificate good toward massages and facials, and $5 toward any hair/skin care products.

The Humane Society is currently in need of dog and cat food (canned or dry), dog biscuits, rawhides, pig ears, 6-foot nylon leashes, gentle leaders & halti collars, 16 to 18 inch dog collars (buckle only), unused prescription flea meds, KMR & first born mother replacement milk, bottles, heating pads, and cleaning products.

Auto company sponsoring toy drive

Cascade Auto Group is sponsoring a toy drive to benefit the Victim Assistance Program. Cascade Auto Group will be accepting donations of new toys through Dec. 20 at their showroom located at 4146 State Road in Cuyahoga Falls.

The Victim Assistance Program helps those families with children who are victims of horrible accidents or violent crimes who might not be able to share in the holiday season via traditional means. Since 1972 this organization is committed to help and make sure no victim is alone. It is their mission to provide advocacy on a variety of levels including: proactive crisis intervention throughout the criminal justice system, education and advocacy throughout the criminal justice system, a collaborative continuum of care via appropriate referrals to community agencies/resources and community and professional education focused on victim issues, needs and service. Company collects food bank donations

Company members are again trying to build a "Macaroni Mountain" at Levinson Family Chiropractic. The company is collecting boxes of Mac-and -cheese in the hopes of collecting more than 300 boxes this year. All of the boxes will be donated to the Akron Canton Regional Food Bank and Good Neighbors. Donations will be collected now through December. The office is located at 646 Portage Trail.
