Cuyahoga Falls -- Two Falls men, ages 20 and 24, were arrested on Dec. 2 and charged with theft after they allegedly stole a woman's purse. On Nov. 28, a Falls woman reported that while walking in the parking lot of a Graham Road grocery store around 2 p.m., an unknown person grabbed her purse out of her cart and fled from the area on foot. The loss of the purse and its contents was approximately $300, the report said. Detectives got a limited description of the suspect from the victim, said Capt. Tom Pozza, but they were able to gather more information after talking to witnesses and looking at in-store video. In looking at photos, the victim identified the man who took her purse, and witnesses identified his accomplice. Both suspects confessed to the crime, Pozza said. Neither the purse or contents were ever recovered, he said. Both have preliminary hearings scheduled on Dec. 15 in Stow Municipal Court, according to court records. Accident Dec. 4 -- Two-car crash. A 24-year-old Stow woman was taken to an area hospital with possible injuries following an accident that occurred on State Route 8 at 10:22 a.m. The other driver, a 49-year-old Norton man, was cited for changing course. He was not injured, according to the report, which said that both vehicles were traveling north on Route 8 just south of the Graham Road exit when the man changed lanes and struck the rear of the woman's car, causing it to spin out of control and hit the median. A witness said Route 8 in this area was reduced to one lane, and traffic was delayed at least 15 minutes. Breaking and entering Dec. 7 -- Open door. A Falls resident reported someone forced open the main door of his storage facility in the 1100 block of West Bath Road between 7 p.m. Nov. 27 and 10:30 p.m. Dec. 4 and then opened a refrigerator and left it open. Nothing appeared to be missing. Police are investigating. Underage possession, drug abuse Dec. 6 -- Pot, beer found. An 18-year-old Falls boy was arrested at 1 a.m. and charged with underage possession of alcohol and drug abuse after he was found in possession of suspected marijuana and two cans of beer after police stopped him in his vehicle for weaving at Chestnut Boulevard and Third Street. Unruly juvenile Dec. 6 -- Teenage girl gone. A 13th Street resident reported her 16 year-old daughter was disobeying the rules of the house and then ran away from home at 10:10 p.m. Around 11 p.m., shortly after the officer had returned to the station, the girl came home, police said. The case was referred to the Youth Division. Burglary Dec. 5 -- Cash, jewels missing. A resident of the 400 block of Graham Road reported someone broke into her residence by unknown means between 5 and 7 p.m. and stole $300 in cash and five pieces of jewelry. Total loss was $1,300. Dec. 4 -- Camera, coins taken. A resident of the 2300 block of Theiss Road reported someone entered her home between 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. and stole a digital camera and a pitcher full of coins. There were no signs of forced entry, the report said. Loss was $450. Forgery Dec. 5 -- Checks cashed. A resident reported her ex-boyfriend forged two of her personal checks and cashed them for $900 and $800 on Oct. 6. Detectives have not yet made contact with the suspect, police said.
