Silver Lake Police are investigating a burglary that was reported at a village home Nov. 22.

Residents of a home in the 3100 block of Orchard Road told police they left their home at 1:40 p.m. to run errands. When they returned at 2:10, the residents said they noticed their back door was pushed in, and their 42-inch TV was on the floor of the breezeway. The residents reported several items missing, including a 36-inch flat-screen TV, a video game system, a video camera, a digital camera, and several DVDs.

A formal sitting chair in the living room and a window pane in the breezeway were damaged, according to the police report.

During the time the couple was gone, neighbors told police they observed two females in an older box-style red or maroon four-door vehicle parked behind the Orchard Road home, said Silver Lake Police Chief Gary DeMoss. One female had black curly hair and a flannel coat, according to the report.

DeMoss said a value of the items taken has not yet been determined, but added "the damage and clean up is estimated at $2,400."

According to DeMoss, there was another burglary reported in the area in September, but "it is unknown if they are related."

Police are investigating the incident, and DeMoss said if anyone has any information or tips regarding the case, they should contact the police department at 330-928-7573.
