Cuyahoga Falls -- A 22-year-old Falls man was arrested Nov. 12 after he allegedly pepper-sprayed a 43-year-old Falls man after rear-ending the victim's SUV with his pickup truck. According to the report, the 43-year-old was heading north and stopped at a stop sign on Byrd Avenue at State Road. The 22-year-old, also westbound on Byrd, struck the SUV around 4 p.m. According to police, the driver of the vehicle that was hit got out of his SUV and approached the other driver who then sprayed pepper spray in his face and eyes and drove off. The victim was treated on scene by Falls EMS for irritation to eyes and face. There was minor damage to his SUV. The suspect was arrested and charged with assault two hours later after he came to the police station to discuss what happened. He was also cited for assured clear distance ahead. The suspect said the driver of the SUV approached his vehicle and raised his hand with "something shiny" in it, and that's when he pepper-sprayed him. Charitable solicitations Nov. 14 -- No begging. A 21-year-old Austin, Texas man was arrested and charged with soliciting charitable donations after police saw him asking for money while standing on the side of the Howe Avenue exit ramp around 6:15 p.m. Theft Nov. 14 -- Souvenirs? The owner of a Graham Road motel reported someone took bedding, towels, shelves and other items out of a rented room between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m. Total loss was $470. Nov. 14 -- Deadbeat rider. A cab driver told police a male customer did not pay him the $20 fare he owed him in the 1800 block of Sedro Street at 2 a.m. Nov. 12 -- Money missing. A resident of the 1600 block of Kennedy Boulevard reported someone stole $40 from a table in her apartment. Nov. 10 -- No fun. A resident of the 1800 block of Bailey Road reported someone took her family's plastic outdoor play set from the backyard between 10:30 a.m. Nov. 9 and 2:30 p.m. Nov. 10. Loss was $100. Nov. 10 -- Leave a message. A Falls man reported someone stole his cell phone while he was at a bar in the 1900 block of Bailey Road. Loss was $50. Underage consumption Nov. 14 -- Underage drinking. A 12-year-old boy was arrested on Underwood Court at 2:30 a.m. and charged with underage consumption after he was found to be under the influence and he admitted to officers he had been drinking. He was released to his parents and referred to Youth Services. Burglary Nov. 14 -- Crime witness. An Adam Run resident reported seeing a man enter an unlocked garage and come out with an object around 1:20 a.m. The resident said he watched the man leave in a gold Toyota Camry. Police have a lead and a suspect. Nov. 13 -- Coins taken. A resident of the 900 block of Graham Road reported someone entered her house between 8 p.m. Nov. 12 and 3 p.m. Nov. 13 by kicking in her back door, stole $25 worth of state coins and went through several filing cabinets of personal documents. Damages were $250. Domestic violence Nov. 13 -- Husband charged. A 39-year-old Falls man was arrested and charged with domestic violence after his wife reported he punched and kicked her after an argument shortly after midnight. She was checked by EMS, the report said, but not transported. Criminal mischief Nov. 11 -- Water boy? A 17-year-old boy was charged with criminal mischief after his mother reported he left the house at 9:40 a.m. after turning on a faucet in the basement of their Ninth Street home and removing the handles so it couldn't easily be turned off. The report said he also left an outdoor spigot running. Accident Nov. 12 -- Off track. A 19-year-old Brook Park woman was cited for reckless operation after her car got stuck on the railroad tracks near Broad Boulevard and State Route 8. According to the report, the woman was driving west on Broad Boulevard at 2:30 a.m. when she attempted to turn right onto the ramp for Route 8 north. Turning too soon, she mistakenly turned onto the railroad tracks. The undercarriage of her 2001 Dodge Neon had disabling damage, the report said. She was not hurt.
