First Christian Church First Christian Church of Cuyahoga Falls, 2253 Third St., will host a Fall Festival Chorus on Nov. 1 at 7:30 p.m. The theme for this year's concert is "We Are One." First United Methodist Church There will be a training session at First United Methodist Church, 245 Portage Trail, on Nov. 7, from 10 a.m. - noon for those interested in being a part of Interfaith Hospitality Network. Jennifer Hanselman will speak at Going Strong at First Church on Nov. 12 at 1 p.m. in Wesley Hall. The mother of sextuplets and resident of Cuyahoga Falls will present a program entitled "Return of the Party of Nine." All are invited to hear stories of the Hanselman household as the babies turn into energetic preschoolers who keep their parents and big brother hopping. "Tis the Season to be Stressed," a women's in-house retreat will be on Nov. 14 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at First Church. Speaker Nickie Keagy will teach strategies to manage stress focusing on special considerations of stress for women during the holiday season. Choose two interest groups to attend from the following: Holiday table arrangement; Making earrings or pendant; Cookie magic; New appetizers; Christmas on a budget; Family dynamics during the holidays; Surviving the holidays after the loss of a loved one; Leaving a legacy of faith through your traditions; Learn simple gifts to make and take. St. John's Episcopal Church The Central-East Deanery will meet in Massillon on Nov. 2. Anyone requiring a ride should meet in the parking lot at 8:45 a.m. The Episcopal Church Women's Board will meet Nov. 5 in the lounge. Plans for the Christmas Tea will be the focus of the meeting, which starts at 10:30 a.m. St. Andrew's will visit the congregation on Nov. 8 at the 10 a.m. service. The every member canvas pledge drive runs through Nov. 8. Members are asked to return their pledge card by Nov. 8. The church is located at 2220 Second St. Parking is available across the street and a handicapped entrance is provided. Trinity United The Trial of Job will be performed Nov. 7 at Trinity United Church of Christ, 915 North Main St., Akron at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the church sanctuary. In the performance, "Faith" is on trial. Performers include Katie Grigg-Miller, from Silver Lake, as Mrs. Job. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under. All proceeds go to support Akron Urban Ministries, whose mission is to help the hungry, homeless, and helpless in the Akron area. Northminster Presbyterian Church The Northminster Presbyterian Church, located at 104 W. Portage Trail Extension, invites community members to join the congregation for its Sunday morning worship service at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Stephanie Crossland. Rev. Crossland will focus on Stewardship on Nov. 8, speaking on "Our Whole Living." Fall programming is underway. The Pioneer Club, the non-denominational youth club for ages 4-seventh grade continues to meet on Thursday evenings at 6 p.m., for fun, learning, crafts, music, snacks and an opportunity to earn badges. In November, the Pioneer Club classes will be making jars of Friendship Soup, to be given to Good Neighbors. They will continue to meet through Dec. 17, and will start again in the new year in January. The Children's Sunday School for children in grades 1-5 (The Shining Stars Class) meets each Sunday morning during the worship service, following "A Moment with the Children." Students in grades 6-8 (The New Beginnings Class) are invited to meet in the Youth Room during the same time. Children through kindergarten meet in the child care room each Sunday, during the worship service. The Adult Sunday School class continues to meet at 9:15 a.m. in the church lounge and is studying Covenant Communities during the fall, with the books studies coming from the Old and New Testaments. The next Spaghetti Dinner will be Nov. 13, from 5-7 p.m. The dinner includes spaghetti with Marinara, chunky meat sauce or special Alfredo sauce, salad, bread, dessert and coffee, punch or tea. Bethany United Church of Christ Sunday worship times at Bethany UCC are 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. Church school for children and adults is at 9:15 a.m. Nursery is available from 9:15 to 11:30 a.m. All are welcome. A Celebration of Congregational Life will be Nov. 1, as the congregation has much to celebrate about our life and ministry together. The community is welcome to attend. Bethany once again will host an Election Day Bake Sale Nov. 3. Monies collected will go to missions. Bethany United Church of Christ is located at 1235 Broad Blvd. The Church in Silver Lake The church's hot meal to the community, "Lunch On Us," is served the first Saturday of each month at 11:30 a.m. Please join the congregation for nourishment at the next meal on Nov. 7 or come to help serve. Bath Road, announces the following worship schedule (Child care is available): On Sundays at 9 a.m., there is prayer in the sanctuary; at 9:30 a.m. is coffee and fellowship; at 9:45 a.m., there are Life Impact classes for all ages; and the service will take place at 11 a.m. On Wednesdays, dinner is available from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m.. The menu varies, and the meals are reasonably priced. At 6:30 p.m., there will be a gathering in the sanctuary and from 7 to 8 p.m. there will be studies with ages grouped. On Nov. 1 at 3 p.m., congregation members will meet for a hike at Firestone Park on the Red Wing Trail. On Nov. 1 at 4:15 p.m., congregation members will travel to see Judgment House at Hope Community Church at 3033 Middleton Rd. in Hudson. Members will leave the parking lot at 4:15 and arrive at Judgment House at 4:40. Judgment House is a live, walk-through drama that tells the story of families and teenagers whose lives have been rocked by tragedy. The consequences of their choices are revealed as they enter their final destination. The drama is approximately 35 minutes in length and is recommended for those age 10 and up. On Nov. 7 is the Youth Raking Fundraiser Start off at church at 8:30 a.m. Call the church number to sign up for church youth to come and rake the yard. Donations are gratefully accepted.
