At Large City Council candidates file finance reports

All four candidates for Cuyahoga Falls City Council At Large filed pre-election campaign finance reports, according to the Summit County Board of Elections.

Candidates who spent more than $1,000 or received more than $1,000 up through Oct. 14 were required to file the pre-general finance report.

The deadline to file the pre-election finance report was Oct. 22.

Of the four At Large candidates, Jeff Iula collected the most monetary contributions with $5,795.

The Committee to Elect Levia Goff, the Democratic challenger in the At Large Council race, reported $3,115 in monetary contributions and $2,776.36 in expenditures, leaving an available balance of $338.64.

The committee also listed $1,345 in in-kind contributions. The committee's top contribution was $250 on July 21 from International Union Operating Engineers #18.

The committee's top expenditure was $799.82 paid to Triad Oct. 9 for door hangers and design. The committee reported receiving $1,335 in contributions at fundraising events in August and September.

The Jeff Iula For Council At Large Committee reported $5,795 in monetary contributions and $3,931.92 in expenditures, leaving an available balance of $1,863.08.

Iula is the Republican challenger in the At Large Council race.

Iula's committee also reported making $666.67 in in-kind contributions.

The Iula committee received a total of $2,500 from Joseph F. Brodzinski dba Robart for Mayor in the forms of a $1,500 check on Aug. 24 and a $1,000 check on Sept. 8. Iula also reported receiving $1,905 from a Sept. 9 fundraising event.

Iula's highest expenditure was $1,411 paid to Ad Graphic Inc. on Aug. 24 for brochures.

Iula's committee made $333 in in-kind contributions to the Committee to Elect Marianne Sandy and $333 in in-kind contributions to the Campaign to Elect Judy Fradette.

The Klinger Campaign Committee, the fundraising body for At Large Republican incumbent Carol Klinger, brought forward $6,181.76 from its previous report, reported $100 in monetary contributions and $3,547.72 in expenditures, leaving an available balance of $2,734.04. The committee also lists $58,528.90 in outstanding loans that the committee owes, and it also lists $7,318.28 in outstanding debts owed by the committee

The committee's only contribution in the most recent reporting period was $100 from Frank Klinger on Oct. 13.

The Klinger committee's top expenditure was $2,591.60 paid to Record Publishing Co. on Sept. 28 for advertising.

According to the report, Rick and Carol Klinger have loaned $58,528.90 to the committee from 1997 through this year. The $7,318.28 in outstanding debts are owed to Rick Klinger, according to the report.

The Committee to Elect Debbie Ritzinger, the Democratic At Large incumbent, brought forward $16.84 from the previous report, and reported $2,025 in monetary contributions, $400 in other income, and $1,314.98 in expenditures, leaving an available balance of $1,126.86. The committee also lists $501.35 in outstanding loans.

Ritzinger's committee reported receiving $1,250 in contributions at an Aug. 15 fundraising event and $775 in contributions at an Oct. 15 fundraising event. The top individual contribution from those two events came on Oct. 15 in the form of a $200 check from William Lohan.

The report also shows that Ritzinger loaned $501.35 to her committee.
