St. Joseph's Catholic Church

St. Joseph's Parish Festival will be July 25 from noon to 11 p.m. at 1909 Third St. in Cuyahoga Falls. There will be children's games, prizes, inflatables, face painting, 16 Kid's Deli foods and pizza from Marco's. The dinner will be served from 5:30 to 7 p.m., catered by Flaming Pig. The bands that will perform are the "Fret Daddies" from 2 to 5:30 and then "Off the Record" will play from 7 to 11 p.m. The event will take place rain or shine. David's House
Family Church

Author and Native American Indian Chief Apostle Jim and Faith Chosa will be ministering at David's House Family Church, 2128 Front St. (located on the Cuyahoga Falls Riverfront Square District) on July 24 and July 25 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on July 26 at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. For more information, call 330-922-4871.

Chapel Hill Church

Everyone in the community is invited to come for free food, fun and games at the outdoor pavilion at Chapel Hill Church, 1160 Howe Ave. (under the white water tower) from 6 to 8 p.m. on July 29. There will be two inflatable castles for children, cornhole games, lots of food and more. This event is free. For more information, call the church office at 330-929-1924.

St. John's
Episcopal Church

The Akron Coin Club meets in the undercroft on July 21.

AA meets July 20 at 7:30 and July 24 at 8 p.m. NA meets at 7 p.m. on July 24.

Soup's On takes place July 25 at 11:30 a.m. The program operates on a shoestring budget while purchasing the food and maintaining the kitchen equipment (refrigerators, dishwasher, stove, etc.) The congregation prepares 130-plus meals each time Soup's On happens at the kitchen. The program serves singles mothers, people with disabilities, the elderly, and other attendees who just want to have a conversation with someone. All are welcome.

The annual church picnic and worship at the park is Aug. 9 at 10 a.m. at Water Works Park, Big Cuyahoga Shelter, 2025 Munroe Falls Ave. The regular 8 a.m. Eucharist service will take place at the church. Bring a dish to share and a friend for the congregation to meet.

The church is located at 2220 Second St. Parking is across the street and a handicapped entrance and elevator are also available.

St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church

Orthodox Christian Schools of Northeast Ohio and the Akron Orthodox Clergy Association will present a one-week Vacation Church School and Summer Science Camp Aug. 10 through 14. Registration deadline for the programs is July 20. These programs will take place at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 3204 Ridgewood Road, Fairlawn. The church's phone number is 330-666-7116. Vacation Church School costs $10 and will take place from 8:30 a.m. to noon each day from Aug. 10 through 14. The school is for children who range in age from entering pre-school to eighth grade. Major themes include: Feasts of the Theotokos (Day 1); Nativity of the Theotokos (Day 2); Entry of the Theotokos into the Temple (Day 3); Annunciation of the Theotokos (Day 4); and Dormition of the Theotokos (Day 5).

Science Camp costs $70 and will take place from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. each day from Aug. 10 through 14. The program is for children who are entering grades one through nine. Major themes include: Energy Transformations; Let's Make Electricity!; Putting the Wind to Work; Using the Energy of the Sun; and Unleashing the Power of the Atom.

The two programs operate independently. Children can participate in one or both. Lunch is only provided for children who are participating in both programs. To register: applications are available by e-mail at ottawa703@yahoo.com.

Broadman Baptist Church

Broadman Baptist Church, 350 E. Bath Road, on Sundays has prayer in the sanctuary at 9 a.m., coffee and fellowship at 9:30 a.m., Life Impact classes at 9:45 a.m., and a worship service at 11 a.m. Babysitting is available.

On Wednesdays, the church hosts a fellowship meal at 5:30 p.m., worship and prayer service at 6:30 p.m., and studies with various age group classes from 7 to 8 p.m.

This year the church is going to Australia for Vacation Bible School July 19 through 24 from 6 to 9 p.m. for preschoolers up through 12th Grade.

Any business that would like prayer during this week simply needs to bring their business card by the church and give it to the administration team at the registration desk. The kids will remember a business by name in prayer for all who stop by and visit and leave a business card.

Northampton Bible Church

Northampton Bible Church invites all children, ages 4 through (going into) grade 6, to join the congregation for Vacation Bible School this year. From July 19 through 23 from 6:30 to 8:35 p.m., children can attend "Crocodile Dock: Where Fearless Kids Shine God's Light." Children can jump into bayou fun at Crocodile Dock where they participate in Bible-learning activities, singing, games, crafts and more.

Bethany United
Church of Christ

Throughout the summer, Bethany UCC asks members and friends of its congregation to bring in one item (non-perishable) each week for Good Neighbors and Miller Avenue. The Men's Breakfast is a great time for men of the church to get together to share faith, food, and fellowship together; as well as a few chores with which the custodians could use some help. The men gather the third Wednesday of the month at 8 a.m. Summer Worship times: 8:30 a.m. is a casual, informal service in the social hall; and a traditional worship service at 9:30 a.m. is in the sanctuary. Sunday School for children will be during the 9:30 hour. The building is wheelchair accessible with handicapped parking. For information call 330-923-5277. Bailey Road
Christian Church

Bailey Road Christian Church will have summer hours through Sept. 6. During the summer, Sunday School for children and adults will take place at 9 a.m.

Attendees should bring their Bibles. Worship service will take place at 10 a.m. and a praise service will take place at 7 p.m.

Just For Christ Family Fun Time will take place on the fourth Sunday of each month at 3 p.m.

The church continues to support these local projects: Feed My Sheep/Akron, Good Samaritan Fund and Good Neighbors.

in Silver Lake

The Church in Silver Lake's worship service is at 10:30 a.m. every Sunday.
