Cottrell, Meek marry at naval academy in Annapolis, Md.

Bridget Cottrell and Ensign Chris Meek were married Nov. 15, 2008 at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md. Naval Academy Chaplain Fr. Aidan Logan presided.

The bride is the daughter of Darrell and Patty Cottrell of Keller, Texas. The bridegroom is the son of Byron and Rebecca Meek of North Richland Hills, Texas.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a fingertip-length veil and a white Oleg Cassini gown featuring a beaded bodice, scalloped edges and a watermelon pink sash. She carried a bouquet of hot pink roses tied with a white satin ribbon.

The wedding colors were chocolate brown and watermelon pink.

Organist Monte Maxwell provided music for the ceremony.

Serving as the bride's maid of honor was her sister, Tricia Cottrell of Akron. Bridesmaids included another sister of the bride, Paige Cottrell of Keller, Texas; Meghan Factor of Cuyahoga Falls; Kristin Whitmer of Charlotte, N.C.; Stephanie Smith of Toledo; Emile Ondrus of Long Island, N.Y.; and Kristin Rank of Rochester Hills, MI.

Caroline Long of Shreveport, La., the bridegroom's cousin, was the flower girl.

Performing the duties of best man was Lt. JG David Legault of Silverdale, WA.; Groomsmen included Matt Meek of Lakewood, Colo. and Austin Meek of North Richland Hills, Texas, brothers of the bridegroom; Matt Sapp of Lubbock, Texas; Ensign Russ Harris of Kingsville, Texas; Ensign Ben Kroll of Meridian, MS; and Ensign Ben Mulloy of Norfolk, Va.

Hayden Hunkele of Apex, N.C. , the bride's cousin, was the ring bearer.

A reception was conducted in the newlyweds' honor at the United States Naval Academy Officers Club. Their honeymoon was postponed, due to military orders.

The bride is a 2001 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School and a 2005 graduate of Siena Heights University in Adrian, MI.

The bridegroom is a 2002 graduate of Nolan Catholic High School in Fort Worth, Texas and a 2007 graduate of the United States Naval Academy. He serves as a naval flight officer for the U.S. Navy and has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant JG.

The couple resides at the Naval Air Station at Whidbey Island in Washington.
