Cuyahoga Falls -- During a traffic stop at Howe Avenue and Main Street at 11:09 a.m. July 2 an Akron man, 20, was arrested and charged with felony drug abuse after police say he was found in possession of 500-mg tablets of Hydrocodone, a painkiller. He was booked in the Cuyahoga Falls Jail. His passenger, a 19-year-old Akron man, was also arrested and charged with misdemeanor drug abuse after he was found with a bag of suspected marijuana. He was issued a citation and released. Theft July 6 -- Apartment entered. A resident of the 2400 block of State Road reported someone entered her apartment between 4 p.m. June 30 and 7 a.m. July 4 and took a video game system and games, a television, driver's license and five rings. There were no signs of forced entry, the report said. Estimated loss was $3,605. July 6 -- Beef stolen. An Akron man, 49, was arrested and charged with theft after store security caught him trying to walk out of a Howe Avenue grocery store at 1:10 p.m. with eight packs of steak valued at $129 concealed in a black bag, the report said. July 3 -- Supermarket theft. The security guard for a Graham Road grocery store reported someone left the store without paying for $391 worth of merchandise at 8:25 p.m. Police said they have leads in this case. Drug paraphernalia July 6 -- Pipe found. A Falls woman, 41, was arrested at a Winter Parkway apartment and charged with drug paraphernalia after police found in her possession of a glass pipe used for smoking crack, the report said. Officers found the pipe while on an unwanted guest call. Fireworks July 4 -- 'Tis the season. A Victor Avenue man, 18, was arrested and charged with discharging and possessing fireworks in the city after a someone reported seeing him throwing the lit fireworks into an electrical substation at Pierce Avenue and Wilson Street. Assault July 4 -- Holiday punch. An Akron man reported a man he knows punched him in the face during a verbal altercation at a home in the 300 block of Erie Street at 3:13 a.m. He had a red mark on his face, the report said. He was referred to the prosecutor. He did not require medical attention, police said. Underage consumption July 3 -- Teen charged. An Akron man, 19, was arrested and charged with underage consumption at Front Street and Broad Boulevard at 10:15 p.m. after police report he was seen with a beer at Rockin' on the River. Attempted vehicle theft July 2 -- Hot-wiring tried. A Munroe Falls man reported someone broke the passenger side window of his utility truck parked at his business in the 1500 block of Main Street between 8 p.m. July 1 and 10 a.m. July 2. The truck's ignition was broken and wires had been pulled out from under the dashboard in an attempt to start it up, the report said. Estimated damage was $500. Burglary July 2 -- Electronics taken. A resident of the 1200 block of Center Avenue reported someone broke into his residence between 6:30 and 9:30 p.m. July 1 by removing a piece of glass from the back door. Missing were two video game systems, an MP3 player and a digital camera, all worth $790, the report said. July 2 -- Thieves planning for a party? A resident of Elizabeth Court reported that two unknown people entered their attached garage at 5 p.m. and took a case of wine and a case of beer. Total loss was $75. Two suspects were last seen running toward Indian Mountain Park, the report said. July 1 -- Dog lover? A resident of the 400 block of Meadow Lane reported someone entered his home while he was away, throwing a brick through the window of a back door between noon and 3:55 p.m. Nothing was missing, but some jewelry was moved and the homeowner's dog was fed. Breaking and entering July 1 -- Prying times. The manager of a car wash in the 2900 block of State Road said someone between noon June 30 and 5 p.m. July 1 pried open the pump room door with an unknown object, and then once inside, pried open two change machines, taking $400 in cash and causing $2,050 damage.
