The Woodridge Local School District's 10.01-mill, five year renewal levy that was approved May 5 was backed by a majority of voters in 16 of the 17 precincts where votes were cast.
That's according to the official voting results that were certified by the Summit County Board of Elections May 26.
Those results show that 1,496 voters (or 71.72 percent) supported Issue 16, and 590 voters (or 28.28 percent) opposed the tax measure that will generate $5.27 million per year for district operating expenses.
The voting sites in the Woodridge School District consist of nine precincts in Cuyahoga Falls, five in Akron, and one each in Boston Heights, Peninsula, Boston Township, Richfield Township, and Sagamore Hills.
The levy was approved by at least a 2-to-1 margin in nine of the 17 precincts casting votes. No votes were cast on the Woodridge levy in the Richfield Township or Sagamore precinct.
The largest margins of approval were seen in Cuyahoga Falls precinct 8-D, where 196 votes were cast in favor of Issue 16, and 39 were tallied against the tax issue, and in Cuyahoga Falls precinct 8-A, where the issue was approved by a 48 to 7 tally.
The Boston Heights precinct is the only one that opposed the levy, by a 24-12 margin.
