Letter: Criticizes School Board member for exit

I attended the February Cuyahoga Falls School Board meeting with the intent to express my opinion during the time in which the public is able to speak. When the time came at the end of the meeting, Board member Kellie Patterson got up and walked out before the public was to speak and did not come back into the room until after we were done. She did not excuse herself or ask for a recess when she left and said nothing when she came back.

She was a big supporter of the survey that the Board sent out to the people of Cuyahoga Falls so that they could find out what the citizens thought needed to be done in the school system. I have even heard her bring up different points from that survey over the past couple of years. But on this night she seemed to care less what we had to say. I feel as an elected official, part of her responsibility is to hear what the public has to say, even if she does not agree.

I was very offended and felt that she showed me absolutely no respect as a citizen or a parent of a child in this school system. No matter what the reason she left, she could have at least asked for a recess. I did not expect her to agree with what I had to say but I at least expected her to be respectful to me and the general public and stay and listen to what we had to say. I have heard and read what she has had to say over the years and I guess I was expecting too much for her to return the favor. In this case, Kellie Patterson's actions spoke much louder than her words.

Sorry, Ms. Patterson, but such responses are a common tactic of those about to loose the debate! When they can't successfully challenge the facts or the figures...they attack the messenger...even the ones who are rather polite as opposed to "rude & crude", eh?

Yo...groth...what's "FNP" mean, hoss?

Yo...Mr. Reinhold, dude! Stifle yourself, eh? If you had a SPECIFIC statement that you SPECIFICALLY wanted School Board Member Patterson to hear or address, I'm sure the Board(in total) would have granted you a respite until she returned from answering a "call of nature", eh?

C'mon now, boss! You've never been, by your "PREVIOUS LETTERS TO THE EDITOR", so "ANAL" about School Board procedures before, eh? In any case...if Ms. Patterson hurt your feelings and made your "widdle-biddy-wip-quiver", I'm sure you'll get over it.

Where are the figures for open enrollment that Ms. Patterson sent, FNP?

Where can I find the channel for this soap opera. I always thought the students were issue one and not all the adult actors in this soap. As an educator I always encouraged debate and discourse in my government classes. That required respect for each other. I know one of these actors learned to question and debate in my classes. I wonder where the other actors went to school.

Are you kidding me? I send in data regarding the cost of open enrollment and the FNP prints a letter pertaining to my use of the facilities!

When and how I use the restroom is none of your business Mr. Reinhold.
