Letter: Wants School Board member voted out

Share_email E-mail Story    |    Share_print Print Story    |    Comments    |

I continue to be amazed at the ideas of Kellie Patterson of the Cuyahoga Falls School Board. She sure knows how to get things into the press whether or not they should be.

She has tried to get the people to vote against funding the schools because she seems to want to force the agenda to her ideas.

Her fellow School Board members stated that she leaked confidential information to the media. I think it was probably because she didn't like the decisions that the Board made.

She has proposed a realignment of the schools that I believe costs the district money while trying to claim that it saves money. In her actions, I think she has revealed that the reason she ran for the School Board was that she wanted to re-open Newberry Elementary School.

When are we going to realize that her only agenda is about her needs and not our children's needs?

I hope that the voters in the Cuyahoga Falls School District vote her out in the next election cycle. In the meantime, let's take her proclamations with a grain of salt, understanding from whence they come.

Scott P. Hamilton

Scott,

If 4 out of 5 are always in agreement (with the superintendent, I might add) one might call them rubber stamps.

Hello? Mrs.Anderson? Did you read the post below mine?

Well, laddy-da-da, Ms. Neely!

I've lived in the City of Cuyahoga Falls more than half as long as your whole family, eh! Your family's "registration or history" problems are not the concern of anyone but yourself. Um...the info on both Ms. Benedum and Ms. Patterson's sites are eminently usable if you've got a inquisitve mind, don't ya know.

Molly's info is only handy if you know how to use it. I do live in the Falls. In fact my family has been here for more than 100 years. I'll leave it to genious Jenna to figure out how someone can live in the Falls and not be listed on the Summit County Fiscal Office site.

I couldn't agree with Mary Neely more. Your city does matter.

I found Molly_Benedum_2494's handy-dandy guide to searching out residences of posters very informative.

According to the Summit County Auditor's web site, Mary Jo isn't even a resident of the school district. Makes me curious, if she doesn't even have a vote in this whole issue, why is she so concerned about sphamilton01?

Isn't this simply lying by omission - or is implication?

Scott, if 4 out of the 5 are looking out for the best interests of only 150 children in the district over the 4,000 others, the fall election will be very interesting indeed.

Living within the school district versus your true address may be important in your neighborhood, but I think the majority of voters would feel that lying is lying. Period.

Mary, Mary, Mary, My school district is what matters, not my city and you can't deny it no matter how you want to spin it. At the current configuration, K-5 is at my local elementary school, 6-8 is at my middle school, and 9-12 is at my high school. People attend my local elementary school from both cities and the same is true for my middle and high schools.

Your city is very relevent. I wonder if you would feel the same if your child was in an over crowded, under funded class room in Cuyahoga Falls? I hope you are comfortable with your justification for lying, the rest of us see right through it.

I specified Cuyahoga Falls on my signature because this issue is about the school district and our children not about the city we live in. I live in the Cuyahoga Falls School District and that is what is relevant. I find it interesting that people want to draw city borders on this issue. The school board was voted in by the voters in the district and is accountable to them, not to those of one city or another.

Molly's response confirms my comments, so thanks Molly! If 4 out of 5 are in agreement and the fifth is creating all of the issues (including court cases), a quick Pareto analysis would say that the fifth is on the fringe. I look forward to the fall election.

Don't bother searching for Kellie's site or mine. Just head on over to the Summit County Auditor's site and search on Mr. Hamilton's name. It's pretty interesting to see where he owns property.

Just a hint: It isn't in Cuyahoga Falls.

Seems like he's kind of slippery about the truth, just like 4 of the 5 Board members. There's a reason that Ms. Patterson has 2 ongoing court cases against the Board and all the other 4 have is unsubstantiated allegations.
