Letter: Questions Board member's conduct

Share_print Print Story    |    Comments    |

After reading Cuyahoga Falls School Board Member Kellie Patterson's Web log opinions and press reports about her School Board activities over the past year, I can only wonder about the following:

How the School Board can focus on an orderly management process and decisions regarding the education and futures of district children given Ms. Patterson's apparent failure to understand the difference between constructive dissent and disruptive behavior; and given this disruptive behavior: How the School Board can retain dedicated individuals whose valuable time and energy is diverted from serious educational policy matters -- or how the School Board can possibly expect to attract dedicated candidates who would bring professional attitudes and competencies to fill future Board vacancies.

Finally! The head 'dummie', oops, I mean 'moderator' has moderated within it's domain, eh? Here it is in part, folks:

"It seems that a couple of souls are more interested in who is writing this blog than what it says. One would-be commenter is convinced that "Babs" is running the show. Who "Babs" is, I don't know, but apparently bad guesses are more comforting than dealing with the unknown...

...Although the paranoia has some entertainment value, I've opted not to allow the site to be hijacked by gobble-de-gook, accusations, and supersleuths, so those comments will not be posted. I'm sure there are some Kellie Patterson supporters out there. If she's your girl, post on her site. I'm sure she'd love to see some new names among her supporters. If you want to hijack a site, continue to visit the Falls News Press..."

Um...the likes of yourselfness ain't an "unknown" to me, buttercup! You waddle so bad there's only one thing you could be, such is the process of elimination in "sleuthing", eh? Don't really care what your name is...babs.

Um...if the preponderance of posts on this site are mine who's fault is that? I'm not going anywhere, sweet-pea...all's you got to do is step up and toe the line. Oh, but then, you've apparently been willing to let our cohorts do all the "sleuthing" and posting their results on your domain when it came to such folk as Mary Neely, eh?

Well, buttercup! What'cha gonna do when the likes of me runs right through you, eh? Wanna play some Red Rover, babs?

Prove me wrong or prove me a liar, eh? Um, fyi, buttercup...proving someone purposely told a lie is part-and-parcel of proving they libeled someone, don't ya know? Apparently you do now, eh?

Aw...c'mon folks! Don't let this aged piece of opinion be the end all/be all of the 'most read' postings about our School Board in our glorious local advertising rag, eh?

And now children are going to be shanghied from the award-winning Preston Elementary School to support the existance of Silver Lake Elementary School?

Hmmm...methinks the game is affot, Watson.

What a bunch of administrative-policy-wonk bs, Mr/Ms Hart! There's absolutely no mandate that every school board vote be unanimous given each member SHOULD vote their conscience and such unanimous votes just might make most Americans suspicious as to what's going on!

Ms. Patterson has sought to do nothing if not bring the archane mechanizations of a local school board to public light. She is quite specific in her opinions, arguments and reasoning...agree with her or not! Further, she's gone the extra mile to make her reasonings public and allow any and all puclic comment on her 'blog'. No improper 'executive sessions' there, eh?

Some might wonder whether or not it's Ms. Pattersons stated disdain for the continued preservation of Silver Lake Elementary School that's stuck in your craw, sir/ma'am!
