Nationwide craft retailer to open store in Stow

Hobby Lobby Creative Centers, a privately held retail chain of more than 400 arts and crafts stores, will open a store in Stow in the fall.

The 45,000 square-foot facility will be located at Kent Road in the Community Center. This is Hobby Lobby's 26th store in Ohio. Dave Tunison will be the store manager.

According to company officials, Stow was chosen because it is a good location with solid trade area populations. "We've had requests for a store to be opened in the Stow area, and we look forward to bringing our excellent customer service to the community," says John Schumacher, assistant vice president of advertising.

Hobby Lobby will offer crafts, hobbies, picture framing, jewelry making, fashion fabrics, floral, scrapbooking, cards and party, baskets, wearable art, home accents, holiday supplies and much more.

Hobby Lobby will be open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and will employ 30 to 50 full and part-time employees.

Hobby Lobby was founded in 1972 in Oklahoma City, OK with 300 feet of retail space. The chain has grown into 400 stores in 32 states and operates from a 3.4 million square-foot office, manufacturing and distribution center.
