Zumba fitness class at State Road facility
Shananne Lewis, professional dancer and Zumba-certified fitness instructor, is offering Zumba classes on Wednesdays at 7:45 p.m. at Nan Klinger's Excellence in Dance at 2315 State Road.
Zumba combines Latin and international music with dynamic, yet simple exercise moves, using their unique intermittent training format. While Zumba embraces all the fundamental principles of fitness, Zumba helps the body efficiently burn calories, effectively tone all muscle groups, incorporate full range of motion, and improve the cardiovascular system. Lewis is offering the 12-consecutive week session. Students may join at any time to begin their session. Classes are under way and go through May. Participants are asked to wear gym shoes, comfortable clothes and bring a water bottle.

Free legal advice clinic offered Sept. 25
Summit County residents who cannot afford a lawyer can get free legal advice on a walk-in basis at the Summit Lake Brief Advice & Counsel Clinic Sept. 25. Local attorneys will be available to meet with individuals and answer their legal questions in a confidential setting. Community Legal Aid's Volunteer Legal Services Program will team up with local attorneys to offer the clinic, at 941 Princeton St., in Akron. Pre-registration is not necessary, but residents should arrive between 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to register. Low-income individuals with a legal problem should call the Community Legal Aid HelpLine at 1-800-998-9454.
