The voices of more than 230 singers in the Summit Children's Choir Program will present the annual "Sounds of Spring" concert on May 17 at 7 p.m. on the Cuyahoga Falls High School auditorium stage. Each of the training and ensemble levels of the program will perform individually for this event, with a grand finale uniting the singers with the prestigious 55-member Touring Choir, which will be traveling to Arizona this summer on a "Wild West Tour" where they will perform concerts in churches, at the Grand Canyon, and on stage in the new Tempe Center for the Performing Arts.

A special feature of this concert is the presentation of a $500 college scholarship to each of the 12 senior members of the choir. Every year the Summit Choral Society awards a $500 scholarship to each graduating senior who has been in the program for at least three years. This year's seniors, who are all members of the Touring Choir, collectively have more than 90 years in the program. They have are: Melanie Andrews, Tallmadge High School; Hilary Ayers, Revere High School; Jill Butler, Lake High School; Taylor Hazlett, Home Educated in Millersburg; Katherine Hershberger, Home Educated in Uniontown; Natasha Jones, Revere High School; Kristen Keihle, Home Educated in Barberton; Kate Loar, Firestone High School; Alyssa Mowery, Green High School; Sarah Seay, Norton High School; Jim Shiekh, Woodridge High School; and Emily Stroble, Copley Fairlawn High School.

Tickets for the concert are $9 each, all reserved seating, and are available by visiting www.SummitChoralSociety.org or by calling the Summit Choral Society ticket hotline at 330-434-SING (7464). Discounts are available with Entertainment Book coupons and for groups of 10 or more. For additional information contact Jenn Midcap, Director of Marketing for the Summit Choral Society.
