Falls boy cited after car vs. bicycle accident

A 12-year-old bicyclist was cited after a collision with a car at 3 p.m. April 14 sent him to the hospital. The driver, a 30-year-old Falls man, told police he was traveling south on Hudson Drive when he saw a large box truck attempting to turn north onto Hudson from Hollywood Drive.

The boy said the truck turning onto Hudson took up both lanes. He assumed he was clear to cross the roadway in a marked crosswalk against the "do not cross" sign. The boy was transported to Akron Children's Hospital, the report stated.Police ticketed the boy for failure to obey a traffic control device.

Accident

April 15 -- Chain reaction. A 20-year-old Copley man was cited for failure to keep an assured clear distance ahead following an accident at 8 a.m. on Graham Road east of Bailey Road. Police said the man rear-ended a car driven by a 66-year-old Akron man, who as a result struck a pickup truck which was stuck in traffic. Two of the drivers may have been injured, but no one was taken to the hospital, police said.

Incorrigibility

April 19 -- Unruly teen. A 13-year-old Curtis Avenue girl was charged with incorrigibility after her mother told police she stayed out past her curfew and, when she got home and was told to help clean the house, she got angry and started yelling and throwing things. No one was hurt.

Domestic dispute

April 20 -- Switch to soda. Police were called to a residence at 2:30 a.m. to stop a domestic dispute. A 44-year-old man and his 56-year-old girlfriend were arguing over his drinking and going to strip clubs, the report stated. Police gave the man a ride to a motel where he could spend the night.

Drug abuse

April 20 -- Illegal drugs. An 18-year-old Stow man and a 17-year-old Silver Lake boy were arrested at 12:20 a.m. and charged with drug abuse after they were found in possession of suspected marijuana while sitting in a vehicle at a Graham Road grocery store.

April 19 -- Needle found. A 22-year-old Falls man was arrested at 10:40 p.m. at a residence on Prange Drive and charged with possession of a drug abuse instrument when he was found with a hypodermic needle. He was also charged with disorderly conduct, as was a 23-year-old Falls man who was with him.

Criminal mischief

April 19 -- No swimming. A 15-year-old Falls girl was cited for criminal mischief after a Falls River Square staff member reported he chased the girl out of the fountain where he saw her playing, and then he caught her starting to write with a king size marker on the wall under the Portage Trail Bridge at 5:20 p.m.
