Broadman Baptist Church Broadman Baptist Church, 350 E. Bath Road, hosts the following programs and services: On Sundays, fellowship takes place at 9:30 a.m., followed by Life Impact classes at 9:45 a.m., and worship service from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. On Wednesdays, there is a fellowship meal at 5:30 p.m., followed by worship and prayer service at 6:30 p.m., and discipleship from 7 to 8 p.m. (various age group classes). A benefit meal for Sue R. Starts will take place April 13 from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. April 25 and 26 is the T. U. F. F. Man for Jesus Weekend Conference at Seneca Lake Baptist Assembly. It will begin April 25 at 6 p.m. and ends April 26 by 2 p.m. Vacation Bible School (VBS) for summer is already starting to be planned. The church will be featuring "Outrigger Island" as its theme. More information is forthcoming. Northminster Presbyterian Church Northminster Presbyterian Church, 104 W. Portage Trail Extension, will host a Beach Party Vacation Bible School on June 16 through 20. Adult Sunday School is at 9:15 a.m., followed by the worship service at 10:30 a.m. Children's Sunday School is at 10:50 a.m. The church is hosting an indoor rummage/craft show on April 19 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tables are available for $10. The Northminster Craft Guild meets at the church on the third Wednesday of each month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Attendees should bring their current project, a sack lunch, and a friend. For more information, call 330-928-8885 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays or Fridays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. First United Methodist Church in Cuyahoga Falls First United Methodist Church, 245 Portage Trail, is having a Potluck Dinner on April 13 at 5 p.m. in Wesley Hall for all interested in hearing about the church's mission work in the Dominican Republic. Chicken, beverages, rolls and table service will be provided. Just bring a vegetable, salad or dessert to share. All are welcome to this dinner and program. To donate gently used clothing, toys, games, household items, etc. to a good cause, the church is having a Rummage Sale on May 3 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will be collecting items at the church the week of April 25. All proceeds go to the United Methodist Women of the church to be used for mission projects in the area and throughout the world. United Presbyterian Church Pastor Ross Slaughter continues with his extended series on discipleship with a look at Cleopas and his unnamed companion in a message entitled: "Cleopas: 20/20 Blindness," from Luke 24. United Presbyterian offers two distinct styles of worship. The traditional service starts at 8:30 a.m. and the New Creation contemporary service starts at 11 a.m. The educational Hour is between the two services beginning at 9:45 a.m. with small group ministry for all ages. Child care is available on Sunday morning. Parking is available on church property. All are welcome. The U.P.C. Junior and Senior High Youth Groups will meet April 13 from 7 to 8 p.m. at the church. PrayerLab is scheduled for April 15. PrayerLab is an opportunity to pray and to be prayed for. Anyone can come to the church sanctuary any time between 7 and 8:30 p.m. This will also give participants a chance to engage in discussion about how to have an effective prayer life. The format is open, with no fixed agenda or liturgy, so as to be spirit-led. The Men's Breakfast will take place April 19 at the Silver Swan from 7:30 to 9 a.m. The Silver Swan is located on Front Street in Cuyahoga Falls between Bailey Road and Hudson Drive. Pilgrim United Church of Christ Pilgrim United Church of Christ youth will host a Krazy Kamp Auction and Pot Luck Lunch after Sunday Worship Service, April 13. Profits from the auction will help finance this year's camp fees. Sloppy Joes and drinks will be provided. Guests are asked to bring side dishes and desserts to share. Pilgrim UCC's Sunday School begins at 9:30 a.m. and worship service begins at 10:30. Rev. Kirk Bruce provides the morning message. Pilgrim is located on the corner of Broad Boulevard and Second Street in downtown Cuyahoga Falls. During the Sunday School hour, Pilgrim youths are exploring ways to be active Christians every day. Now through May 4 they will be discussing the Emmaus Journey, "How am I a disciple of Jesus," "Where did I see, hear, touch, or otherwise experience Jesus today," and "What are my talents?" They will be experiencing these subjects through computer programs, life-sized board games, stories, art, and a Scavenger Hunt. Pilgrim welcomes all youth to come and learn how to "Live LIke Easter People." The Adult Sunday Morning Book Study is discussing "Yes, Lord, I Have Sinned But I Have Several Excellent Excuses." This book by author James Moore helps participants to take responsibility for their own actions and to learn how through the grace of God one can does not have to live in guilt. New participants are always welcome to join the discussion. Also on April 13, Pilgrim's Single Group will enjoy Chili, bread, and socializing at 6 p.m. in the social hall. This is a non-denominational group that welcomes all singles ages 30 to 65. A donation will be taken to cover the cost of the food. This group meets the second Sunday of every month. Plans are underway for a mission trip June 14 through 22 to Back Bay Mission in Biloxi, Miss. On this trip volunteers will be helping to make the hurricane damaged area a better place to live. Currently pink Flamingos are popping up in and around Cuyahoga Falls. They mysteriously appear at night in unsuspecting peoples' front yards. For a fee participants can have these critters placed in someone's yard, have them removed from their yard, or buy insurance against having a Flamingo infestation in their yard. At Pilgrim Worshiping and Bible studying does not end when summer begins. Dates have been set and preparations have begun for Vacation Bible School and Adventures with God's Camp. Vacation Bible School will be July 14 through 18. Adventures With God Camp, which takes place at Pastor Kirk's farm, will be Aug. 11 through 13. Bethany United Church of Christ Worship times at Bethany United Church of Christ are Sundays at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. with church school for children and adults at 9:15 a.m. 7th Day, the church's youth choir, will be singing at 8:30 and the Chancel Choir will sing at the 10:30 service. Bethany men will gather April 16 at 8 a.m. for the monthly Men's Breakfast. Food and fellowship precedes the small amount of work done to help the custodians. Bethany's Green Team is celebrating Earth Day April 19 from 4 to 7 p.m. by hosting a Family Night. Arts and crafts, a potluck dinner, a film and activities are planned. Bethany's Annual Treasures and Bake Sale is April 26 form 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Call the church office for information at 330-923-5277. Hope for Housing event is April 19 Hope for Housing, on behalf of Cross International Alliance, will host the first Hope for Housing Gala on April 19 at 6:30 p.m. at the Hilton Akron/Fairlawn Hotel, 3180 W. Market St., Akron. The black tie optional evening will have dinner, dancing, silent and live auctions. The live auction will offer trips to destinations like Argentina, New York, Florida and North Carolina. Former U.S. Senator Mike DeWine will be the special guest speaker. Funds raised from this event will build safe, sturdy homes for poor families struggling to survive in Haiti, Dominican Republic, Mozambique and the Philippines.
