Drummers to perform April 19

The Peninsula Youth Percussion Ensemble in its fifth season under the direction of Jim Huff will perform April 19 at 5 p.m. at Woodridge High School.

The 11-member ensemble includes veterans Matt Anderson, Anne Belcastro, Ross Jankowski and Casey "Smitty" Smith along with Breanna Brunswick, Muna Hawari, Maxx Myers, Miranda Pelle, Logan Stockton, Tyler Tousley and Coley Wickiser.

Members represent Copley Fairlawn Middle School, Bolich Middle School, Lake Middle School, Woodridge Intermediate, Middle and High schools and home-schooled students.

The ensemble will perform a variety of styles from Latin to classical including a drumline-styled piece called "Dynamic Pads." They will showcase trash cans and buckets with their finale, "Talkin' Trash" by Lamar D. Burkhalter. The concert is open to the public and free of charge.
