The Northeastern Ohio Universities Colleges of Medicine and Pharmacy recently recognized Susan M. Labuda Schrop of Cuyahoga Falls with the Olson/Blair Award for Administrative Excellence.

The Olson/Blair Award for Administrative Excellence, named in honor of two of the colleges' charter academic leaders, recognizes outstanding administrative leadership.

Labuda Schrop is associate director for administration with the department of family medicine.

She has helped promote the colleges through her regional and national leadership in professional organizations and many other activities.

Labuda Schrop initiates, writes, monitors and oversees grants, directs research projects and supervises the department of family medicine. Since 1990, she has been either the principal investigator or co-investigator for 21 grants -- grants which have brought nearly $4.5 million in revenue to the department.
