Recently, Carolyn Shroyer, a longtime volunteer to the Cuyahoga Falls Park and Recreation Board, resigned. It is a sad day for the residents of Cuyahoga Falls to now lose such a dedicated and knowledgeable board member. Some may not realize that it was Carolyn's brother, Carl Fuerst, who was our city's first recreation director. He was very involved in building the original Natatorium and was consulted on the new Natatorium as well. The strong commitment to our community by this one family will be sorely missed.

We, on behalf of ourselves and four other City Council members, extend our sincere gratitude and best wishes to Carolyn and her family.
