Three residents of the 2600 block of Third Street reported break-ins or thefts between 6 p.m. March 1 and noon March 2. A female resident of the block said someone entered her unlocked 2004 Buick and took a woman's jacket worth $45 and emergency road kit. The emergency road kit was later found inside a neighbor's garage. The neighbor, a 35-year-old male, told police a boy's bicycle valued at $150 was stolen from the garage, and his 1996 Chevy Blazer was entered. Nothing was taken from the vehicle, which was parked on the street. Neither his Blazer nor garage were locked. A 35-year-old male reported someone entered his unlocked 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee and stole a digital camera worth $200. The Jeep was parked in the driveway. Police have no leads or suspects; the case is still open. Shot fired No one hurt. A female resident of the 2500 block of State Road told police two black males came to her apartment door at 1:13 a.m. Feb. 29 looking for her husband. They left when she told them he wasn't home. When she heard someone outside her door five minutes later, she yelled she was calling the police. Then a shot was fired through her door. A possible .22-caliber slug was recovered by police inside the apartment. No one was injured. The case is under investigation. Accidents Car vs. snow. A 46-year-old Falls woman was injured in a crash at 11 a.m. March 1 after losing control of her 2003 Chevy Monte Carlo on 12th Street and hitting a snow bank on Highbridge Road. She transported to Akron General Hospital by Falls EMS. Hit and run. A 35-year-old Clinton man told police he was stopped in traffic shortly after 5 p.m. March 1 on Ackerman Expressway at Howe Road when a woman in the vehicle stopped behind him suddenly rear-ended the 2006 Nissan Pathfinder he was driving. He said the woman told him she dozed off and offered him $200, which he did not accept, before fleeing when she found out the police were coming. Car vs. tree. An 83-year-old Falls woman was injured and taken to Akron General Hospital after her 85-year-old husband, driving a 1994 Oldsmobile, went off the left side of North Haven Boulevard south of Byrd Avenue at 5 p.m. Feb. 29 and hit a tree. Neither of them could recall what happened, the report said. Drug possession Drug arrest. A Maplewood Street woman, 19, was arrested at 5:40 p.m. March 2 on Suncrest Drive for possession of drugs. She was found in possession of Oxycodone Hydrochloride. Underage consumption Caught drinking. Police arrested a 20-year-old Anderson Road woman and a 19-year-old Maplewood Street woman at 5:20 p.m. March 2 on Suncrest Drive for consuming alcohol under the age of 21. Thefts Time stolen. The owner of a clock shop on Front Street reported between 5 p.m. Feb. 9 and 6 p.m. Feb. 29 someone stole three Lux clocks made in the 1930s with a combined value of $425. Pocket picked. An Akron man reported someone stole his wallet out of his shirt pocket while he was shopping at State Road outlet store March 1. The estimated loss was $40. Shoe lift. An Akron man reported March 3 stole his New Balance tennis shoes, valued at $120, from the men's locker room of the Natatorium on Fourth Street while he was taking a shower. The shoes were not inside a locker, the report said. Police have no leads. Mini-bus entered. A 20-year-old Falls man's 1971 VW Bus was broken into between 6 p.m. March 1 and 7 a.m. March 3 while it was parked in front of his residence in the 2200 block of Eighth Street. Stereo equipment valued at $300 was stolen from his locked vehicle. Domestic violence Husband arrested. A 38-year-old resident was arrested and charged March 2 with domestic violence. His wife told police he smacked her in the head and pushed her down. There was no need for medical treatment, the report said. Comments
