A 10th Street resident was arrested on a charge of child endangering and cited for operating a vehicle under the influence and the concentration of alcohol in his blood after he was stopped on Prange Drive Feb. 14 around 8:30 p.m. According to police, the man was stopped after he was observed "doing doughnuts" in a parking lot by a police officer on an extra-duty job. The police report says the resident had a 2-year-old in the front seat of his truck who wasn't in a child safety seat. A police spokesman said the child was the son of a woman the man was on his way to meet. Criminal damaging Feb. 19. Paneful break. The principal of the elementary school on 23rd Street reported someone threw a brick through a window of Room 26, shattering the glass. The incident occurred between Feb. 17 at 1 p.m. and Feb. 19 at 7:30 a.m. Damage is estimated at $250. There are no suspects. Criminal mischief Feb. 15. Graffiti. A laborer with the Falls River Square division of the city's community development department reported finding graffiti sprayed in the men's room of the pavilion on Front Street. Damage is estimated at $250. At press time, police said the case remained open. Misuse of credit card Feb. 16. Costly break-up? A Larchdale Drive resident alleged her estranged boyfriend took her Discover card and charged $7,000 without her permission from Oct. 20, 2007, to Feb. 16. There is a suspect, according to police. Theft Feb. 15. Missing mail. A 20th Street resident reported someone stole two packages outside her door on Feb. 8 or 9. The contents are valued at $300. The case remains open, according to police. Feb. 19. Trucks vandalized. The owner of a business on Newberry Street reported someone removed catalytic converters from two 1995 Nissan trucks parked in the company's lot. The incident occurred between 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 15 and 2 p.m. on Feb. 19. Loss is estimated at $1,800. Police have classified the case as inactive. Burglary Feb. 14. Change bandit. A Searl Street resident reported someone entered his home by pushing in a window air conditioning unit and removed about $50 in change from a jar in his living room. The incident occurred between 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Police have classified the case as inactive. Comments
