Stow -- Technology company AtNetPlus Inc. officially opened for business in Stow Jan. 30.

The company, which announced its plans to relocate last May, moved to 1000 Campus Drive in Stow from 2321 2nd St. in Cuyahoga Falls.

"I'm actually a lifelong resident of Stow, so I'm moving home, which I'm happy about," said AtNetPlus partner Jim Laber, who oversees the company with Jay Mellon.

The company offers computer hardware and software, computer networking support, technology consulting and Web services.

AtNetPlus has brought 13 full-time employees and five contracted employees to Stow, though Laber said he hopes to hire three more staff members soon.

Laber said Stow attracted him because of its commitment to economic development.

"They're doing everything they can to get new faces in the community," he said. "We're hopefully going to end up in Stow forever."

Stow Economic Development Coordinator Chuck Wiedie said he is pleased AtNetPlus has moved to the community.

"They're in a growth mode, and they didn't have the ability to expand where they were," said Wiedie, adding the first exposure Stow had with AtNetPlus was when the city needed help designing its Web site. "Besides bringing new employment to the city, they are a company that wants to be engaged in the community."

The 10-year-old company has been growing for several months.

AtNetPlus acquired four-year-old competitor CAC Technology for an undisclosed sum in October. The acquisition resulted in the closure of CAC Technology's facility at 3420 Cavalier Trail in Cuyahoga Falls.

AtNetPlus' new location occupies 4,500 square feet of space in the 106-acre Hudson Drive Business Campus owned by Albrecht Inc. Laber said AtNetPlus purchased the space from Albrecht, though he declined to specify the purchase price.
