Three people started 2008 with a new car at the Karam Managed Properties Car Giveaway Extravaganza that took place Jan. 15 at Karam's corporate headquarters.
Karam Managed Properties, a commercial and residential real estate firm in Cuyahoga Falls, staged the event, which featured radio personality Matt Patrick as host. The grand prize, a 2007 Ford Focus, was awarded to Kathy Jones of Cincinnati. Latasha Valian won second prize -- a year of free rent at Karam's newly renovated Columbus Park apartments. Third prize went to Aissaton Kebe, who will receive a month's free rent at Karam's Coppertree property in Speedway, Ind. The grand-prize winner's name was entered by her mother, a Karam Bavarian Woods resident. Runner-up Latasha Valian will receive free rent at Columbus Park in Bedford Heights for a year.
Cuyahoga Falls Mayor Don Robart helped draw the winning entries. Patrick kept the party rolling with prize giveaways and featured merchandise for sale to benefit Akron Children's Hospital "Have a Heart, Do Your Part" Radiothon Feb. 8, 9 and 10 in the hospital's atrium.
