A two-person race is shaping up for the Ohio House of Representatives 41st District election in November, after two candidates are unopposed for election as their party nominees in the March 4 primary.

Incumbent Brian Williams, who is completing his second term in office, has filed to be the Republican Party's candidate, while Akron resident Randy Cole has filed to be the Democratic pick, according to the Summit County Board of Elections.

Cole, president of the local Internet firm GovTech Solutions, formerly worked for FirstEnergy and has served as an administrator for two Summit County engineers and as a legislative aide and budget analyst in the Ohio General Assembly, according to a press release from his election committee.

Williams, an Akron resident who was elected to his first term as District 41 representative three years ago, is a former superintendent of Akron City Schools who worked for the school district 37 years before retiring.

District 41 covers northern and eastern Summit County, including the Nordonia Hills and Twinsburg city school districts, Boston Heights village and township, Richfield Village and Richfield Township, Bath, Copley and Norton townships, Peninsula, Fairlawn and parts of Cuyahoga Falls and Akron.
