Akron man pleads guilty in heroin-related death of Falls man

AKRON An Akron man pleaded guilty to a pair of felony charges in the heroin-related death of a Cuyahoga Falls man, according to the Summit County Prosecutor.

Robert L. Rodgers, 25, on June 21 pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter, a first-degree felony, and aggravated trafficking in drugs, a fifth-degree felony, in connection with the death of Kevin Snyder in 2015, according to a news release from Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh.

In August 2015 Snyder was found dead in his Cuyahoga Falls home, according to the prosecutor. Investigators determined Snyder died after taking fentanyl and traced the drug back to Rodgers, the prosecutor's office release stated.

Rodgers on June 21 also pleaded guilty to: felonious assault with a firearm specification, a second--degree felony, and having a weapon under disability, a third-degree felony in connection with a separate incident in Akron in December 2016.

Summit County Common Pleas Court Judge Jill Flagg Lanzinger is scheduled to sentence Rodgers on June 26 at 10 a.m.
