Silver Lake -- Village Council is looking to fill an upcoming vacancy.
Council member Karen Fuller (District C) told her colleagues on June 5 that she will attend her last meeting as a Council member on July 17. In May, Fuller told Council that she and her husband Steve are moving to Columbus this summer to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Fuller, who has lived in the village for 41 years and has served on Council for 12 years, said they are planning to move in July.
Any District C resident who is interested in serving on Village Council should send a letter and resume to the attention of Council President Jerry Jones at Village Hall, 2961 Kent Road, Silver Lake, OH 44224. Jones noted the communications may also be emailed to him at firstname.lastname@example.org and added he would like to receive applications by mid-July.
Whoever is appointed by Council to fill the vacancy being left by Fuller would serve out the remainder of the term, which ends Dec. 31, 2017. The District C post, along with the other District Council positions, are up for election in November 2017. The deadline to file petitions to run for Council's four District positions in November is Aug. 9.
