Last chances to

visit sheep at

historical society

In partnership with The Spicy Lamb Farm, the Summit County Historical Society has been home to a small flock of Dorset sheep that has been "mowing" the lawn as a living history sheep demonstration since July.

"It's like stepping back in time to the 1840s when Colonel Simon Perkins hired abolitionist John Brown to tend his 1300 -1500 flock of Saxony Merino sheep on Mutton Hill," says Society President & CEO, Leianne Neff Heppner.

The sheep return to the farm within the Cuyahoga Valley National Park at the end of the month. Visit them at the free event Working Dog Wednesdays on Sept. 14 and 21 from 4 - 5:30 p.m. The final herding demonstration day is set for Sept. 24 at 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.
