Kayakers and boating enthusiasts have yet another boating facility to take their boats out of the Cuyahoga River. In the last two weeks, Cuyahoga Falls Parks and Recreation opened an additional boat takeout for increased safety of boaters.

Cuyahoga Falls now has three boat facilities on the Cuyahoga River for use by different experience levels: one at Water Works Park, one at River Front Park and the last at Portage Trail/State Route 8.

The location of the takeout is just under the Portage Trail bridge and is connected to the boardwalk that travels along Riverfront Parkway downtown.

This facility is the recommended takeout point just before dangerous waterfalls and large rocks present themselves downstream.

A sign before the takeout site instructs boaters to get out at the Portage Trail facility.
