No injuries were reported following a school bus crash Aug. 24, according to the Cuyahoga Falls City School District.

A district school bus (Bus 3) was involved in an accident at the intersection of 11th Street and Portage Trail on Aug. 24, according to the district's Facebook page. There were no injuries.

The parents/guardians of the students who were riding the bus were notified, the post said. The number of students involved in the afternoon accident was not immediately known.

Two other bus drivers transported those students home, according to the district.

According to the police report, the bus, driven by a 52-year-old Falls woman, was traveling east on Portage Trail in the left lane around 2 p.m. when a van that was stopped northbound on 11th Street made a wide right turn on to Portage Trail, striking the bus on the right front.

The driver of the van, a 36-year-old Falls man, said the driver of a box truck that had stopped in the right lane eastbound on Portage Trail waved him to go ahead. He was cited for failure to yield at a stop sign. Neither he nor his passenger, a 37-year-old Falls man, reported any injuries.

No one on the bus was injured, either, including the driver and all 11 passengers ranging in age from 10-13. There was minor damage to both vehicles, according to the police report. "Thank you to our team for rallying to help the students and ease the nerves of anxious parents/guardians," the district's Facebook post stated.
