Hydrant flushing continues through Aug. 19

Hydrant flushing serves an important dual purpose of removing sediment and iron deposits from the mains and it also provides a check of the working conditions of hydrants to insure the best fire protection for the community, according to a news release from the Cuyahoga Falls Service Department.°Hydrant flushing will occur during daytime hours from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday°through°Friday.°Hydrant flushing will end approximately°Aug. 19. Barricades and signs will alert residents and drivers of areas of hydrant flushing.°Water may appear discolored after flushing. Allow the cold water to run until it clears up. Residents should direct questions to the Water Utilities Department at°330-971-8005.

Lane restrictions on Route 8 between Graham Road, Route 303

State Route 8 between Graham Road and State Route 303 has various nightly lane restrictions for pavement repairs.

Route 8 between Graham Road and Route 303 will be reduced to one lane in each direction between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. until further notice, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation. This work is the beginning of a $930,000 project to make various pavement repairs on State Route 8 between Graham Road and State Route 303. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late September.
