Court hearings were set for three Akron residents arrested on felony drug charges in Cuyahoga Falls.

Donald W. Kohut, 24; Dylan M. Rogers, 19; and Krista M. Gray, 18, all of Akron, were video-arraigned Dec. 9 in Stow Municipal Court on charges of illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for manufacture of drugs, a third-degree felony; illegal manufacture of drugs, a third-degree felony; and possession of criminal tools, a fifth-degree felony.

Cash bond for $100,000 was set for Kohut. Ten-percent bonds for $25,000 were set for Rogers and Gray. Gray was released after she posted $2,500. Kohut and Rogers were in the Summit County Jail on Dec. 12.

All three are scheduled for a preliminary hearing before Judge Kim R. Hoover on Dec. 16.

The three were arrested Dec. 7 by a Cuyahoga Falls police officer on patrol who saw a suspicious situation in the area of North Haven Boulevard and 20th Street at 3:58 a.m. Dec. 7, according to a press release issued by the police department.

"The officer observed the vehicle and subjects in the Walgreens parking lot on State Road," a police spokesman told the Falls News-Press. "The officer felt that they were up to something. When they pulled out, the officer began following the vehicle. They began making random turns trying to ditch the officer."

One person left the scene on foot, the press release stated, while three other people were detained at the vehicle. The officer found Gray was attempting to buy pseudoephedrine from Walgreens and was "denied due to over purchase," according to the spokesman for the police.

As a result of the patrol officer's investigation, numerous methamphetamine lab components and lab equipment were found inside the passenger compartment and trunk, police said. A Cuyahoga Falls Police Narcotics officer, assigned to the Summit County Drug Task Force, came to the scene to dispose of the hazardous chemicals.

The case remains under investigation, police said.
