New Cuyahoga Falls City Councilmember selected

Cuyahoga Falls City Council has a new member.

Paul Colavecchio was appointed to serve as the new Ward 5 City Council member by the Democratic Precinct Committee for that ward in a meeting at the Nervous Dog Cafe in Stow Wednesday, Feb. 6.

Colavecchio was the precinct committee’s only nominee for the City Council seat. The committee then voted 5-0 in favor of his appointment to the post.

Following the vote, Colavecchio was sworn in to office by Judge Paul Gallagher.

Colavecchio fills the post that was vacated by his wife Diana, who resigned Jan. 10 after she was appointed to serve as the clerk of courts for Stow Municipal Court. Diana Colavecchio replaced Lisa Zeno Carano, who left the clerk’s job after she took a position as court administrator with the Summit County Court of Common Pleas Probate Division.

Diana Colavecchio served on City Council for seven years.
