All Cuyahoga Falls Library employees will receive a pay raise this year. The Library Board of Trustees on Tuesday, Jan. 29, voted 10-0 to grant a 2.25 percent pay raise to the library's 11 non-union employees, said Kevin Rosswurm, the library's director.

On Jan. 15, the Board voted 7-0 to ratify a new contract between the library and the Professionals Guild of Ohio, the union representing 13 full-time and 13 part-time library workers. Under the deal, the union employees are receiving a 2.25 percent wage increase this year, a 1.5 percent hike in 2014, and a 1.75 percent raise in 2015, said Rosswurm. The contract runs through Dec. 31, 2015.

In 2012, non-union employees received a 3 percent pay increase, and union employees who were eligible for a step increase received a 3 percent raise.

"The union staff who were not eligible for a step increase received no raise, but those who were at the top of the pay schedule received a one-time lump sum payment of $750 for full-time staff or $300 for part-time staff," said Rosswurm.
