No one injured in house fire on Third Street in Cuyahoga Falls

Cuyahoga Falls -- Nobody was injured in a fire that occurred in the late afternoon Jan. 24 at a home at 2026 Third St., according to authorities.

The Cuyahoga Falls Fire Department received the call shortly before 5 p.m., according to Chief Paul Moledor, who added the blaze was extinguished in about five minutes.

Moledor said the home's residents and the pets were all safely evacuated.

He added responding firefighters "did a good job."

At press time Jan. 24, there was no estimate on damages, however, the blaze has displaced a female resident, her four children and the resident's mother.

A member of the family works at Firehouse Grille and Pub, 2097 Front St.

A fundraising event to assist the family will take place Feb. 1 at the Firehouse Grille and Pub. There will be a basket raffle and employees will donate 100 percent of the tips earned on Feb. 1 to the family said Jen Brandenburg, general manager for the Firehouse Grille. She said the business is also accepting monetary donations, as well as items such as clothing and furniture.
