The Walsh Jesuit High School's CenterStage Theatre presents "Legally Blonde the Musical" on March 10, 11, 17 and 18 at 7:30 p.m., March 11, 12, 18 and 19 at 2 p.m., March 16 at 7 p.m. and also two preview shows, March 8 and 9 at 7 p.m. All performances will take place in the school's theatre, located at 4550 Wyoga Lake Road. Both shows are directed by David Banks, in his 17th year of directing plays and musicals for CenterStage Theatre.
With a book by Heather Hach, along with music and lyrics by Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin, "Legally Blonde is non-stop energy, singing, dancing and comedy. Legally Blonde premiered in pre-Broadway tryouts in San Francisco, California. In April 2007 the show opened on Broadway, and grossed more than $1,000,000 a week on several occasions. It received seven Tony nominations and ten Drama Desk nominations and the subsequent West End production opened in January 2010 at the Savoy Theatre winning the Best New Musical award.
The show is produced through a special arrangement with Music Theatre International. Performing the role of Elle will be Sylvie Staiger and Madison Gordon. The role of Emmett will be played by Mathew Blasio, while Alex Ross plays the role of Warner. Robert Trushel performs the role of Professor Callahan. The role of Brooke will be performed by Isabella Bertolini and Samantha Mossing, while the role of Paulette is performed by Meghan McDonald and Jackie Ward. The show is choreographed by Kim Raines Colton with production assistance by Vince Matia. The music will be performed by a 17-piece live orchestra, conducted by David Banks.
Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for students and senior citizens, and the preview show price is $5 for all. They will be available online atwww.walshjesuit.org or at the door.
