Art appreciation workshop offered

The Cuyahoga Valley Art Center will offer four art appreciation sessions with Bill Mannion, an award winning artist and an adjunct professor at Malone University, on Thursdays starting March 7 from 2 to 4 p.m.

The workshops aim to expand appreciation and understanding of great classical art, how the artists lived and what inspired them as well as general concepts in works of art.

There will be four unique sessions which will run about 1 1/2 hours long. Sign up for all four sessions for $40 or $12 for each session.

Five photographers featured at gallery

The Way We See It! Five Women Photographers can be seen at the Art Gallery of St. Paul's Episcopal Church through May 30.

The exhibit features Karen Ciamente, Pamela Z. Daum, Diane Seskes, Sandra Holata and Christine Morrow. There will be a reception and a chance to meet the artists April 14 from noon to 2 p.m.

St. Paul's Episcopal Church is at 1361 West Market St. in Akron. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. For details, call 330-836-9327 or visit www.stpaulsakron.org.

BeatleFest returns

to Akron

Beatles fans can hear their favorite songs with The Rubber City BeatleFest, which will be at the The Akron Civic Theatre, in conjunction with RSM Productions, LLC, on March 9 at 6:45 p.m.

Performing on the stage will be The ReBeats, Revolution Pie, and Hard Days Night.

Beatlemania was not only a musical experience, but a cultural experience also. There will be exhibits, merchandise and memorabilia to purchase. Vendors this year are; George Shuba, Cleveland's first and foremost rock photographer, Mike Olszewski, Steve Madonna, Son of Ghoul, Lawrence Puljic, and Billy Nainiger.

The Rubber City BeatleFest will be on Saturday, March 9 at 6:45 p.m. Doors will open at 5:45 p.m. Ticket prices are $25 reserved, $15 general admission or $40 for a special date night offer for two tickets. Irish dancers

perform in St. Pets Day benefit

As part of the Celtic Club's Ninth Annual St. Pet's Day, the MacConmara Irish Dancers will perform a free one hour show at the Cuyahoga Falls Library at 2015 Third Street at 7 p.m. on March 7.

The event is in memory of WNIR radio host Tom Erickson.

People attending are asked to bring a dry dog/cat food or cat litter donation for humane/animal rescue groups. Irish Wolf Hounds will be present to socialize with audience members. For details, visit the Facebook page, St. Pet's Day.
