City Council will not meet on July 3
Cuyahoga Falls City Council has changed revised its schedule this month to meet on July 10, 17, 24 and 31. There will not be a Council meeting on July 3. The next session will be July 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the Natatorium , 2345 Fourth St.
No Village Council meeting July 3
Due to the upcoming Independence Day holiday, Silver Lake Village Council has canceled its meeting scheduled for July 3. The next meeting will take place July 17 at 7 p.m. in Village Hall, 2961 Kent Road.
Government offices closed July 4
Both the Cuyahoga Falls municipal building, 2310 Second St., and Silver Lake Village Hall, 2961 Kent Road, will be closed on July 4 in observance of Independence Day.
Falls Mayor meets with residents July 5
Mayor Don Walters would like to invite citizens to meet with him one-on-one to present any concerns or ideas for making Cuyahoga Falls a better place to live.
Meetings are by appointment only. Due to the 4th of July holiday, the next First Tuesday program will be held on Wednesday, July 5 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Planning Commission meets July 5
The Cuyahoga Falls Planning Commission will meet July 5 at 6 p.m. in the Natatorium, 2345 Fourth St. Items that will be reviewed by the commission are:
Final Major Plat Section 1113.04 Final Major Plat -- The Preserve at Salt Creek Final Subdivision Plat-Phase III creates 33 owner occupied single-family parcels on 8.4 acres and on existing parcel 37-00651. The current zoning is R3MU3-RM.
The project engineer is Wohlwend Engineering.
Major Site Plan- Application for the construction of 142 apartment units and parking on an additional 4.598 acres in Cuyahoga Falls (parcels 35-02225, 35-00539, 35-01132, 35-07199,) and open space protection and a retention basin on 3.7 acres in Akron (parcel 70-00495). The applicant is Bath Road Associates, LLC.
Sanitation collection delayed
Due to Independence Day, sanitation collection will be delayed by one day in Cuyahoga Falls from July 4 through 7. Collection will occur in Silver Lake on July 8, one day later than normal.
Village Council looks to fill vacancy
Silver Lake Village Council is looking to fill an upcoming vacancy.
Council member Karen Fuller (District C) told her colleagues that she will attend her last meeting as a Council member on July 17. Fuller said she and her husband Steve are moving to Columbus this summer to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
Any District C resident who is interested in serving on Village Council should send a letter and resume to the attention of Council President Jerry Jones at Village Hall, 2961 Kent Road, Silver Lake, OH 44224.
Jones noted the communications may also be emailed to him at firstname.lastname@example.org and added he would like to receive applications by mid-July.
Whoever is appointed by Council to fill the vacancy being left by Fuller would serve out the remainder of the term, which ends Dec. 31, 2017.
The District C post, along with the other District Council positions, are up for election in November 2017.
The deadline to file petitions to run for Council's four District positions in November is Aug. 9.
Pedestrian bridge south of Graham Road closed starting July 5
Beginning July 5, the pedestrian bridge just south of Graham Road over State Route 8 will be closed through late July for bridge repairs.
